Four Afghan evacuees tested positive for COVID-19 after arriving in South Korea last week.

The Justice Ministry said on Saturday that the four Afghans, two adults and two children, were immediately sent to a medical facility for COVID-19 patients with minor symptoms in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province.

The four are among 377 Afghan evacuees who arrived in South Korea last Thursday and took PCR tests upon arrival.

The four tested positive on Saturday out of 17 whose test results came up inconclusive and got retested.

The confirmed cases reportedly had no fever or any other symptoms on Friday when they were transported to a temporary shelter in Jincheon, North Chungcheong Province.
