South Korea reported one-thousand-619 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday, the 54th consecutive day that the tally has been over one-thousand.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) said Sunday that the new infections detected throughout Saturday raised the country's accumulated caseload to 248-thousand-568.

Of the new cases, one-thousand-576 were local transmissions, while 43 were from overseas.
By region, the capital area accounts for 67-point-eight percent of domestic transmissions, including 508 in Seoul and 469 in Gyeonggi Province.
Non-capital regions added 508 cases, including 75 in South Chungcheong and 64 in Busan.
Three more deaths have been reported, raising the death toll to two-thousand-279, with the fatality rate at zero-point-92 percent.
The number of critically ill patients dropped by five from the previous day to 404.
