National Health Insurance Premium to Rise 1.89% in 2022

The national health insurance premium will rise one-point-89 percent next year.

The Health and Welfare Ministry said on Friday that the Health Insurance Policy Deliberation Committee reached the decision the previous day. 

Payments for salaried workers under an employer-sponsored program will increase by an average of two-thousand-475 won per month to 133-thousand-87 won. 

For local subscribers who do not work for a company, monthly payments for a household will increase by an average of one-thousand-938 won to 104-thousand-713 won. 

The health insurance premium has risen around two to three percent annually over the last four years with two-point-04 percent in 2018, three-point-49 percent in 2019, three-point-two percent in 2020 and two-point-89 percent this year.
