Sales prices of apartment units nationwide have surged by an average of ten percent so far this year.

According to data from the Korea Real Estate Board on Thursday, the cumulative price fluctuation rate stood at nine-point-05 percent as of the fourth week of August.

That is about two-point-three times higher than the three-point-78 percent rise logged in the same period last year.

The fluctuation rate was the highest in Incheon at 15-point-66 percent, followed by Jeju with 14-point-five percent and Gyeonggi Province with 14-point-46 percent. Seoul logged a rate of three-point-62 percent.

The average fluctuation on lump-sum deposit rent, also known as jeonse, nationwide stood at six-point-17 percent, nearly double the rate from a year earlier.
