The 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games kicked off on Tuesday for a 13-day run.

The Games’ opening ceremony was held at the Olympic Stadium in Tokyo at 8 p.m. under the theme “We Have Wings.” Like the Olympics, the event was held without an audience.

Some 44-hundred athletes from 161 countries will compete in 22 disciplines for 539 medals up for grabs.

South Korea was the 82nd contingent to march during the parade of nations. Boccia player Choi Ye-jin and her partner and mother Moon Woo-young were the flag-bearers for Team Korea.

South Korea will compete in 14 disciplines, including Taekwondo, table tennis, badminton, archery and swimming. A record large 159-member delegation is participating this year, including 86 athletes.
