With COVID-19 vaccinations for the 18 to 49 group set to start on Thursday, those who have yet to make a reservation or have a date after the Chuseok holidays will be able to get their jabs a little earlier.

The state vaccine task force said Tuesday that it will expand reservation openings at medical facilities from September 6, following a boost in the Moderna vaccine supply.

Those seeking to receive a shot in the second week of September should make a reservation no later than Thursday. For dates in the third week of next month, reservations are possible through September 2. 

The task force said Moderna vaccines arriving in the coming weeks will help stabilize vaccinations. 

An initial supply glitch at the U.S. firm prompted a South Korean delegation to visit its headquarters in Massachusetts to lodge a complaint, after which the company pledged to provide seven million doses by next week.
