Officials from the ruling Democratic Party(DP) and the government will meet at the National Assembly on Tuesday morning to discuss next year's budget plan. 

The DP has called for an expansionary fiscal policy to cope with the pandemic. 

The party is said to have requested the Finance Ministry to increase the budget for supporting small merchants and young people as well as carbon neutrality. 

The DP's policy chief, Rep. Park Wan-joo, has suggested that next year's budget will be up about eight to nine percent from this year.

The government will submit the budget plan to parliament at the beginning of next month.
