South Korean pitcher Ryu Hyun-jin of the Toronto Blue Jays grabbed his 12th win of the season, throwing a seven-inning shutout.

Ryu earned the 3-0 win against the Detroit Tigers on Saturday's home game at Rogers Centre in Toronto.

Pitching for seven innings, Ryu allowed five hits, walked one and struck out five. He did not allow a runner past first base until Harold Castro hit a one-out double in the fifth.

With his strong performance, Ryu saw his earned run average (ERA) improve from three-point-72 to three-point-54.

With his 12th win, Ryu matched New York Yankees Gerrit Cole and Oakland Athletics Chris Bassitt for the American League lead in victories.
