More than half of the South Korean population have received at least the first COVID-19 vaccine shot since the nation launched the nationwide vaccination program in late February.

According to the state vaccine task force on Sunday, nearly 360-thousand people received their first dose on Saturday alone.

So far, 25-point-86 million people, or 50-point-four percent of the population, have received their first shot.

Eleven-point-six million people were administered with the Pfizer vaccine, while some ten million, and two-point-two million people received the AstraZeneca and Moderna vaccines, respectively.

Eleven-point-five million people, or 22-point-five percent of the population, have been fully vaccinated.
