The Central Disaster and Safety Countermeasures Headquarters has raised its emergency response to Level Two as heavy rain continues across the country.

The emergency response was raised as of 11:50 a.m. Saturday, while a related crisis alert was also raised a notch, from 'yellow' to 'orange.'

The government had earlier activated its Level One emergency response as of 8:30 Saturday morning.

A Level Two emergency response is activated when heavy rain warnings are issued for four or more cities and provinces nationwide and there is a possibility of severe damage in some regions.

Currently, heavy rain warnings have been issued for Busan, Incheon, Jeju, and some parts of South Jeolla and Gyeonggi Provinces.
