S. Korea Adds 1,880 COVID-19 Cases

South Korea added just shy of 19-hundred new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the 46th consecutive day the figure has stayed above one thousand.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) said Saturday that one-thousand-880 new infections were registered throughout Friday, including 66 cases from overseas.

By region, the capital area accounted for 65-point-seven percent of all local transmissions including 585 in Gyeonggi Province and 518 in Seoul.

Over a hundred cases were reported in North Gyeongsang Province and 86 in the southern port city of Busan.

The number of critically ill patients has risen by 18 from the previous day to shoot up to 403.

Five more deaths have been confirmed, raising the death toll to two-thousand-202. The fatality rate stands at zero-point-94 percent.
