Producer prices rose for the ninth consecutive month in July due to the rising prices of farm products, crude oil and raw materials.

According to the Bank of Korea(BOK) Friday, the producer price index for all commodities and services stood at 110-point-02 in July, up point-seven percent from a month earlier.

The index, a key barometer of future inflation, posted growth for the ninth straight month since November last year. From a year earlier, the index jumped seven-point-one percent, the largest on-year gain since June 2011.

The rise was led by prices of agricultural and livestock products, crude oil and raw materials.

The prices of agricultural and livestock products both rose two-point-four percent on-month in July.

The prices of coal and petroleum products jumped five-point-one-percent on-month due to rising prices of oil and raw materials.
