The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) fell 61-point-10 points, or one-point-93 percent on Thursday, closing the day at three-thousand-97-point-83.

The main bourse took its cue from Wall Street as U.S. stocks sank after the Federal Reserve signaled that it would reduce its bond-buying program this year. 

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also fell, losing 29-point-93 points, or two-point-93 percent, to close at 991-point-15.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency weakened eight-point-two won against the dollar, ending the day at one-thousand-176-point-two won.
