“Breakthrough” COVID-19 cases in South Korea continue to rise although their share among the number of those fully vaccinated in the nation still remains small.
The Central Disaster Management Headquarters said on Tuesday that a total of two-thousand-111 people have tested positive for COVID-19 as of last Thursday even after they completed vaccination.
The latest number is 571 more from a week earlier and accounts for zero-point-03 percent of those fully vaccinated in the nation.
Johnson and Johnson’s vaccine showed a higher breakthrough infection rate than others, with zero-point-082 percent of those getting the one-shot vaccine making up for the portion.
The AstraZeneca vaccine followed with its rate standing at zero-point-046 percent, while that of the Pfizer vaccine stood at zero-point-015 percent.
Cross vaccinations involving the AstraZeneca vaccine for their first shot and the Pfizer vaccine for the second had the lowest rate of breakthrough cases at zero-point-008 percent.
