Two additional people have been booked as suspects in an investigation surrounding a Navy chief petty officer who took her own life after reporting sexual misconduct by a senior colleague.

According to the military police on Tuesday, a commander and a senior chief petty officer in the same unit were booked on charges of leaking information about the complainant, without further elaboration.

Yonhap News Agency reported that the commander spoke with the woman on August 7, five days before her death. He reportedly faces charges of leaking information after she was assigned to another unit.

The senior chief petty officer is reportedly suspected of informing the perpetrator about the woman’s identity after being told about the incident that occurred on May 27.

Main opposition People Power Party(PPP) Rep. Ha Tae-keung said on a local radio program that the woman told her family about secondary damage from working in the same unit as the perpetrator until she made a formal complaint on August 9.

The perpetrator, also a senior chief petty officer, was detained for questioning on charges of an indecent act by force.
