Samsung Electronics will hold a ceremony on Thursday to sign a collective agreement between its employees and management for the first time in its history.

According to the tech giant, the ceremony to be held at its Yongin production base will make official the results of over 30 rounds of negotiations between management and its four labor unions since November last year.

The two sides reached an agreement on a tentative 95-clause deal last month.

The event comes around 15 months after Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong announced in a public address that he will end the company’s longstanding union-free management policy.

Lee, who has been in prison for bribery involving former President Park Geun-hye, is scheduled to be released on Friday after he was included on the Justice Ministry’s parole list ahead of Liberation Day, which falls on Sunday.
