The government plans to use a state-owned military site to supply 32-hundred homes in Namyangju, Gyeonggi Province, east of Seoul. 

Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki announced the plan on Wednesday in a meeting on the real estate market. 

The minister said that the meeting will discuss details of the plan to provide about 32-hundred homes using a site previously used by a military unit in Namyangju.

According to Hong, the committee on national property policy review under the Finance Ministry will approve and announce a detailed development plan on Thursday. 

The government has pursued a housing supply plan utilizing unused state-owned property, aside from its existing plan to provide over two million homes.
