S. Korea's Exports Rise 46.4% in First 10 Days of August

Exports rose by over 46 percent on-year in the first ten days of August. 

According to tentative data from the Korea Customs Service on Wednesday, the country’s outbound shipments stood at 12-point-seven billion U.S. dollars in the cited period, up 46-point-four percent from a year earlier. 

Average daily exports also grew by 36-point-seven percent, with the number of working days increasing by half a day from last year. 

Shipments of semiconductors and petroleum products jumped 44-point-six percent and 33 percent, respectively, while auto exports plunged 39 percent.

Imports increased 63-point-one percent on-year to 17-point-four billion dollars during the cited period.

The nation witnessed growth in exports to most of its key trading partners, with shipments to the United States rising 55-point-eight percent and China 42-point-seven percent.
