As vaccine reservations for those aged 18 to 49 kicked off Monday evening, four-point-five percent of people in this age group have so far reserved a spot as of Tuesday afternoon.

In a new designated day rule, on the first day, being August 9, only those with birth dates ending in the number 9 can make a reservation through 6 p.m. Tuesday.

The state vaccine task force said about half of all people belonging to this group, which accounts for nine percent of the total, have reserved a vaccine so far. The figure may well go up as reservations close at 6 p.m.

Birth dates ending with the number zero can begin reservations from 8 p.m. Tuesday, while citizens are asked to access the site from about 30 minutes later to prevent a system overload. Authorities also added the type of vaccine and reservation date are subject to change due to the fluid situation in the vaccine supply.
