S. Korea Adds 666 New COVID-19 Cases

South Korea reported 666 new COVID-19 cases throughout Friday.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) said Saturday that 666 new infections were detected throughout Friday, raising the country's accumulated caseload to 135-thousand-344.

Of the new cases, 633 are local transmissions and 33 are from overseas.

Over 60 percent of the domestic cases come from the greater metro area, including 205 in Seoul and 163 in Gyeonggi Province.

Four more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to one-thousand-926. The fatality rate stands at one-point-42 percent.

The number of critically ill patients has risen by three from the previous day to 150.

On Friday, the government also extended current distancing guidelines by three more weeks, until June 13.
