New COVID-19 Cases Fall Below 700

South Korea reported new COVID-19 cases in the upper 600s on Friday, a slight dip after two days seeing over 700 cases. 

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) said Saturday that 681 cases were added throughout Friday, raising the country's accumulated caseload to 131-thousand-61.

Of the new cases, 661 are local transmissions and 20 are from overseas. Of the domestic cases, the greater metro area accounts for around 66 percent, including 253 in Seoul and 168 in Gyeonggi Province.  

New infections were reported in all 17 cities and provinces on Friday. 

Three more deaths have been reported, bringing the death toll to one-thousand-896. The fatality rate stands at one-point-45 percent. 

The number of critically ill patients is down by three from the previous day, at 150.
