The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport will launch a new task force on April 6, at the earliest, to crack down on real estate-related irregularities.

The land ministry on Friday issued an advance notice of revisions to rules on the establishment of such groups in order to pave the way for its launch.

The envisioned task force will comprise 23 members, including employees of the land ministry and personnel dispatched from the police, the National Tax Service and the Financial Services Commission.

Once it launches, the group will analyze suspicious real estate transactions and investigate various irregularities related to real estate, including illegal wealth transfer.

The task force will also keep an eye on possible attempts of real estate speculation at sites to be developed in line with the government’s housing supply plan disclosed on February 4.
