A South Korean court has found guilty two former and incumbent judges implicated in the judicial power abuse cases under the former Park Geun-hye administration.

The Seoul Central District Court on Tuesday handed Lee Min-geol, a former chief planning official at the National Court Administration(NCA), a 10-month prison sentence, with a two-year suspension.

Lee Kyu-jin, a former member of the Supreme Court’s sentencing committee, was given an 18 month-term, suspended for three years. Both were accused of intervening in trials.

It marks the first time a former or incumbent judge has been found guilty of charges tied to the judicial power abuse scandal.
