Police investigating alleged land speculation by employees of the state-run Korea Land and Housing Corporation(LH) have raided the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. 

The Gyeonggi Nambu Provincial Police Agency sent investigators to the ministry in Sejong City at around 10 a.m. to secure documents and items related to the investigation. 

Searches are also being conducted at five other places, including LH headquarters in Jinju, South Gyeongsang Province, and an NH Nonghyup Bank branch in north Siheung, Gyeonggi Province.

It is the second raid of LH following one last week. The bank branch is believed to have provided substantial loans to LH employees suspected of purchasing land using inside information.
