Chung Min-tae, a pitcher with the Hyundai Unicorns, has signed a contract with his team that will pay him 740 million won for the 2004 season, the largest annual payout in the history of Korean pro baseball.

Chung signed the contract with the team's president, Kim Yong-whi, and finalized the sum at 740 million won, which is 110 million won more than Lee Seung-yop's previous record salary last season with the Samsung Lions.

Jung is to join the team in a training session in the U.S. state of Florida on Thursday.
