Daily COVID-19 cases in South Korea remained in the 400s for the third straight day as infection clusters involving workplaces and other daily interactions continue to be reported.
The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) said as of 12:00 a.m. Thursday, 465 additional people tested positive, raising the country's cumulative total to 94-thousand-198.
Four more people succumbed to the virus, with the death toll now standing at one-thousand-652.
Out of the new cases, 444 were local infections, of which 333, or 75 percent, were from the Seoul metropolitan area.
The daily increase, which has fluctuated between the 300s and 400s since peaking at more than 600 following the Lunar New Year holiday in mid-February, has shown signs of resurging the past three days.
This comes as authorities are set to announce social distancing rules that will take effect next week on Friday.
The current levels - which stand at Level Two in the capital region and One-point-Five everywhere else - as well as a ban on gatherings of five or more people are expected to be extended.
