About 20,300 S. Koreans Receive COVID-19 Vaccines

About 20-thousand-300 people received a vaccination for COVID-19 in South Korea since the launch of the nation's public vaccination campaign against the pandemic on Friday.

According to the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) on Sunday, one-thousand-217 people got their shots on Saturday after about 19-thousand-100 people received the vaccine the previous day.

The combined number came to 20-thousand-322 people, which is point-039 percent of the country's population estimated at 52 million.

The nation began mass vaccinations on Friday with the AstraZeneca vaccine, starting with high-risk groups such as nursing homes and rehabilitation facilities.

As of Saturday, the vaccine was administered to about 20-thousand people, or six-point-five percent of some 310-thousand employees and patients aged under 65 at these facilities across the nation.
