Seven out of ten South Koreans are willing to get vaccinated against COVID-19, according to a new poll.

Gallup Korea's survey between Tuesday and Thursday asked one-thousand adults nationwide whether they would get the shots when they are made available locally, and found that 71 percent said they would.

Nineteen percent said they did not plan to get immunized, while ten percent did not have a response.

Seventy-one percent of the respondents expressed concerns about possible side effects, compared to 26 percent who said they were not worried.

Meanwhile, 58 percent of those surveyed positively assessed the government's COVID-19 response, while 32 percent gave a negative assessment.

The survey had a confidence level of 95 percent with a margin of error of plus or minus three-point-one percentage points.
