S. Korea's Exports Jump 69% in First 10 Days of February

South Korea's exports jumped nearly 70 percent on-year in the first ten days of February.  

According to tentative data from the Korea Customs Service on Monday, the country's outbound shipments stood at 18 billion U.S. dollars in the cited period, up 69-point-one percent from a year earlier.

Compared to the same period last year, working days were up by one-point-five this year. Given the rise, the daily average exports during the ten-day span grew by 39-point-three percent. 

Shipments of semiconductors and telecommunications devices soared nearly 58 percent and 88 percent, respectively, on-year. Exports of autos and auto parts jumped over 102 percent and 81 percent, each. 

Shipments to the country's major trading partners jumped significantly, with exports to China and the United States rising 65-point-seven percent and 91-point-four percent, each. 

Exports to the European Union and Japan also surged 126-point-one percent and 43-point-five percent, respectively.
