The military will allow vacations for soldiers from Monday in line with eased social distancing rules.

The move comes 80 days after the military banned vacations for all units on November 27 amid a surge in COVID-19 cases.

The Defense Ministry has lowered its social distancing rules by one notch to Level Two as the government is enforcing eased social distancing rules from Monday.

Under the eased rules, vacations will be allowed for up to 20 percent of soldiers at a unit and virus tests will be required when they return from vacations.

Off-base trips will be restricted in principle, but allowed at safe zones with the approval of commanders.
