The government enforced eased social distancing rules on Monday, while keeping the ban on personal gatherings of five or more people.
Beginning Monday, the government will apply Level Two, the third-highest in the country's five-tier social distancing scheme, for the greater metro area and Level One-point-Five for the rest of the country.
The ban on private gatherings of five people or more will remain in place, although gatherings consisting of immediate family are now exempted.
The 9 p.m. business restriction on restaurants and cafes in the capital region has also been extended to 10 p.m. Customers will be able to dine in until 10, but only delivery and take-out will be available after 10.
Movie theaters, internet cafes, private educational institutes, large supermarkets, theme parks and hair salons nationwide will no longer have restrictions on their hours of operation.
Door-to-door sales businesses, karaoke rooms, indoor sports facilities and indoor concert venues that offer standing shows will be open until 10 p.m. in the greater Seoul area.
Under the eased measures, six types of entertainment facilities nationwide can now open until 10 p.m. if they abide by safety rules.
The eased rules will be enforced until the end of this month.
