S. Korea Reports 303 New COVID-19 Cases

South Korea reported 303 new COVID-19 cases on Tuesday, a day after falling below 300 for the first time in over two months.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency(KDCA) said on Tuesday that the new cases raised the country's accumulated caseload to 81-thousand-487.  

Of the new cases, 273 were local transmissions, while 30 were imported.

Almost 220 of the local cases came from the greater metro area, with 86 in Seoul, 117 in Gyeonggi Province and 14 in Incheon. Other parts of the nation reported 56 cases.

Eight more deaths have been confirmed, raising the death toll to one-thousand-482, with the fatality rate at one-point-82 percent. 

The number of critically ill COVID-19 patients stands at 189, up one from the previous day.
