South Korea's daily COVID-19 cases fell to the mid-300 range amid cluster infections across the nation.

The Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA) said Sunday that 355 new infection were reported throughout the previous day to raise the country's accumulated caseload to 78-thousand-205.

The daily figure dropped below 400 for the first time in five days, mainly due to a fall in the number of people getting tested over the weekend. The government is set to announce its decision on whether to revise social distancing levels on Sunday afternoon.

Of the cases detected throughout Saturday, 325 were local transmissions, while 30 were imported.

About two thirds of the local cases come from the greater metro area, including 98 in Seoul and 107 in Gyeonggi Province. Other parts of the nation reported 101 cases.

As of Saturday, 368 cases were linked to six educational facilities operated by the missionary society IM.

The death toll has risen by six to one-thousand-420 with the average fatality rate at one-point-82 percent.

The number of critically ill COVID-19 patients stands at 229, down two from the previous day.
