Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun said there must not be any discrimination in COVID-19 vaccinations, such as one's socioeconomic status, nationality, or gender.

At a meeting with officials on Friday, Chung said the South Korean government will start the vaccinations under the two main principles of fairness and transparency, adding that it is under these principles that the government decided to offer the vaccinations for free. 

The prime minister said priority, timing and type of vaccines will be decided based on science, and authorities will manage the vaccinations fairly.

Chung also vowed to win public trust by transparently revealing the entire process of transporting, distributing and managing the vaccines, before inoculations.
