South Korea's main stock market has closed at over three-thousand-200 points for the first time.

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) rose 68-point-36 points, or two-point-18 percent, on Monday, ending the day at three-thousand-208-point-99.

It is the first time ever the index has topped the 32-hundred mark in closing, although it has touched the milestone in session several times, including on Monday and January 11.

The fresh bullish run came only two days after the index reached a previous record high of three-thousand-160-point-84 on Thursday.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining 19-point-32 points, or one-point-97 percent, to close at 999-point-30.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened two-point-five won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-100-point-seven won.
