S. Korea's Industrial Output Up 0.7% in November

South Korea's industrial output and investment increased in November from a month earlier, while consumption decreased amid the resurgence of COVID-19. 

According to Statistics Korea on Wednesday, the nation's overall industrial production increased point-seven percent on-month in November. 

Production in the mining, manufacturing, gas and electricity industries gained point-three percent on-month, boosted by a production increase of more than seven percent each in semiconductors and electronics.  

Retail sales, a key indicator of consumption levels, decreased point-nine percent in November from a month earlier, declining for the second consecutive month. 

Facility investment, however, increased three-point-six percent on-month, following a three-point-two percent drop in October.
