KOSPI Hits New Record High

South Korea's main stock market has surged to a fresh record high for the second trading day in a row.  

The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) rose one-point-74 points, or zero-point-06 percent, on Monday, ending the day at two-thousand-808-point-60. The main bourse gained one-point-70 percent last Thursday to finish at two-thousand-806-point-86 points.  

The index also hit an all-time intraday high at two-thousand-834-point-59 points, surpassing the previous record set on Thursday at two-thousand-812-point-16 points. 

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ fell, however, losing one-point-68 points, or zero-point-18 percent, to close at 927. 

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened six-point-three won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-96-point-seven won.
