The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) broke the two-thousand-800 threshold for the first time ever, after topping the two-thousand-700 mark earlier this month.

The main bourse gained 47-point-04 points, or one-point-70 percent, to end Thursday at two-thousand-806-point-86 points.  

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, adding five-point-51 points, or zero-point-60 percent, to close at 928-point-68.  

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened four-point-nine won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-103 won.
