The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) topped the two-thousand-800 mark for the first time ever during trading on Thursday.

As of 2:05 p.m., the index hit two-thousand-800-point-13, which was up more than 40 points from yesterday. 

This comes just three weeks after the KOSPI surpassed the two-thousand-700 level for the first time on December 4.

At the same time, the tech-laden KOSDAQ changed hands at 927-point-09, up nearly four points from Wednesday.
