The Korea Exchange has designated the last day of the year as a holiday, meaning December 30 will be the last trading day of 2020 for securities and derivatives.

The Exchange made the announcement Thursday and added that December 31 will also be excluded from any payment settlements.

However, the operation of CCP, or the over-the-counter central counterparty clearing houses, will go on despite the holiday.

Accordingly, buy orders must be made by Monday in order to qualify for December's dividend payments.

The bourse will open for trading on January 4 next year from 10 a.m., an hour later than usual following a start-of-the-year ceremony.
