Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki said on Tuesday that the government will supply a total of 460-thousand homes next year as part of efforts to stabilize the overheated housing market. 

The minister unveiled the plan while presiding over a meeting of economy-related ministers to check the nation's property market. 

Stressing that a sufficient supply is the basic premise for a stable housing market, the minister said that the government will supply 460-thousand homes next year including those announced in last month's supply plan. 

Of the 460-thousand homes, 278-thousand will be supplied in the capital region, including 83-thousand in Seoul.

Hong said that 319-thousand homes of the total will be apartments, with 188-thousand to be provided in the greater metro area, including 41-thousand in Seoul.
