South Korean soccer star Ahn Jung-hwan signed an official contract Tuesday with Japan's Yokohama Marinos, last season's Japanese pro-soccer champions.

After signing the contract at the team's office, Ahn vowed that he would lead the Marinos to the championship again this season by earning more goals than the 11 goals which he netted playing for the Shimizu S-plus during the previous year.

Ahn's contract period is set at one year, and will earn him about 900 million won.
