South Korea's exports fell point-two percent on-year in the first ten days of September amid the economic fallout from the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to tentative data from the Korea Customs Service on Friday, the nation's outbound shipments stood at 15 billion U.S. dollars in the cited period.

Compared to the same period last year, working days were up by one day this year. Given the increase, the daily average exports during the ten-day period dropped eleven-point-nine percent.

Shipments of semiconductors jumped over 43 percent, while petroleum products and auto parts fell 47 percent and seven-point-nine percent, each.

Exports to the United States and China rose five-point-two percent and nine-point-seven percent, respectively, while shipments to Japan and the Middle East slipped over 20 percent, each.
