The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) gained five-point-18 points, or point-21 percent, on Thursday. It ended the day at two-thousand-437-point-53.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining nine-point-17 points, or one-point-08 percent, to close at 854-point-77. 

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened two won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-183-point-three won.
