South Korea's export and import prices rose slightly from a month earlier in May.

According to data from the Bank of Korea on Friday, the country's export price index, in terms of local currency, came to 94-point-61 in May, up point-six percent from a month earlier. It marks the first rise in three months.

From a year earlier, however, the index slipped eight-point-two percent.

The slight on-month rebound is attributed to a rise in the export prices of coal and petroleum products, which jumped 19-point-five percent.

The country's import prices also gained four-point-two percent on-month in May on the back of rising oil prices, posting the first uptick in five months.  From a year earlier, the prices fell 12-point-eight percent.
