The benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index(KOSPI) ended at a two-week high on Thursday reflecting overnight gains on Wall Street and reports of a breakthrough treatment for the coronavirus. 

The KOSPI gained 62-point-31 points, or two-point-88 percent, on Thursday. It ended the day at two-thousand-227-point-94.

The tech-heavy KOSDAQ also rose, gaining 11-point-37 points, or one-point-72 percent, to close at 672-point-69.

On the foreign exchange, the local currency strengthened eleven-point-seven won against the dollar, ending the session at one-thousand-179-point-eight won.
