The Bank of Korea said Tuesday that the nation's foreign exchange reserves increased by 1.78 billion dollars in October over the previous month.

The central bank said that the foreign exchange reserves in October recorded 143.3 billion dollars, to total a roughly 1.8 billion dollar increase from September.

The bank attributed the increase to ongoing profits from managing the foreign exchange reserves along with the weakening of the U.S. dollar.
