Police on Friday requested the prosecution to indict without detention Hanjin Group Chairman Cho Yang-ho on charges of breach of trust.

Cho is accused of causing losses to Jungseok Enterprise, a Hanjin Group affiliate, by having the company pay one-point-six billion won for security maintenance and repairs of his private residence in Seoul between 2003 and 2013.

The affiliate is also suspected of having its employees do menial tasks for the family, including build a playground for Cho's grandchildren at his residence.

Cho has denied the allegations, saying he knew nothing about the alleged malpractice and mistreatment. Police said Cho paid back in full the suspected amount since the investigation began.
