South Korean economic ministers predict employment conditions will worsen in September and remain bad in the second half of the year due to ongoing corporate restructuring moves, weak domestic demand and policy uncertainties.

Finance Minister Kim Dong-yeon presided over a gathering of ministers Friday who agreed on the need to boost the economy through state finances and to seek ways to encourage corporate investment.

The ministers agreed to come up with ways to reorganize the nation's industrial structure, including enhancing the competitiveness of the manufacturing sector for job creation.

They also discussed ways to reduce difficulties experienced by businesses caused by the country's shortened workweek and minimum wage hike.
