One of the two major umbrella unions in South Korea has decided to return to dialogue with the government and management.

The Korean Confederation of Trade Unions(KCTU) said that its central executive committee made the decision in a meeting on Thursday.

The KCTU and fellow umbrella union the Federation of Korean Trade Unions(FKTU) announced in May that they would boycott all social dialogue in protest of the parliament's passage of a revision bill on minimum wage.

But in early July the FKTU rejoined the committee of labor, government and management, comprising representatives of the three parties.

The return of the two major labor unions is expected to fully normalize the committee's operations.
